Employer Services

While pharmacogenomic (PGx) testing and medication reviews are specific to each individual, these services can also deliver meaningful value to employers. I partner with forward-thinking employers who understand the importance of optimizing employee health.
When you make PGx testing and interpretation available to your employees, you can help reduce healthcare spending, decrease lost time at work, and support greater productivity. Consider the following:
- In a randomized clinical trial where pharmacogenetic testing was used to guide medication therapy for patients with depression or anxiety, there was a reduction of 1.21 disability days per patient per month. (Source)
- The Kentucky Teacher’s Retirement System (TRS), in partnership with Coriell Life Sciences and the Know Your RX Coalition, brought a voluntary PGx program to eligible Medicare Advantage members. Over the first 32 months, a combination of PGx testing and comprehensive medication management reduced direct healthcare spending by $7,000 per patient. While that program focused on retirees, many working-age employees on multiple medications could see similar benefits. (Source)
I keep the process straightforward. Employees who choose to participate receive individualized PGx testing and a clear interpretation of how their results apply to their medications. You gain a benefit that supports both health outcomes and potential cost savings.
If you would like to explore how a PGx program could work for your organization, I invite you to schedule a discovery call. I would be glad to discuss the details and answer any questions.
