Patient Services

If you think you are interested in pharmacogenomic or nutrigenomic testing, but are uncertain how to proceed, I suggest you schedule a FREE 15-minute consultation to explore your concerns and options.
For each type of genetic test, GenePharmer, LLC provides each new patient with a 60-minute initial consultation, which you can schedule here. The initial consultations occur prior to any genetic testing. Follow-up consultations are also up to 60 minutes long and are scheduled once your genetic test results have been reported. Each consultation type will be described below along with pricing for each service…while your genetic test results may come with surprises, your bill shouldn’t!
Pharmacogenomics consultation:
- Desire PGx test: This is for individuals who would like to pursue pharmacogenetic testing (how genetics influences drug response). We will meet via a telehealth visit for up to 60 minutes to review your medications, your health history, and to go over the consent for genetic testing. Once the PGx test results are issued by the laboratory, we will meet again for up to 60 minutes to review the results and how they apply to any medications you are currently taking or any that you are anticipating in the near future. Cost of this consultation service including genetic testing: $675
- Need PGx test interpreted: This is for individuals who already possess a PGx report and would like assistance interpreting and applying the results to their unique medication situation. We will meet via a telehealth visit for up to 60 minutes. Cost of this consultation service: $275
Nutrigenomics consultation:
- Desire NGx test: This is for individuals who would like to pursue nutrigenomic testing. We will meet via a telehealth visit for up to 60 minutes to review your medications, your health history, and to go over the consent for genetic testing. Nutrigenomics, also known as lifestyle genetics, looks at multiple common genetic variants involved in various pathways (such as bone health, cardiovascular health, mood, memory, methylation, inflammation and more) to identify changes you can make in your diet, lifestyle or supplements to optimize your health. Once the NGx test results are issued by the laboratory, we will meet again for up to 60 minutes to review the results and how they apply to your specific health concerns. Please note that the NGx report covers more than 140 genes and is loaded with information. The follow-up consultation will focus on the concerns that were identified during your initial consult and any additional significant findings on the report. It is therefore likely that the entire report will not be addressed in a single follow-up. Cost of this consultation service, including genetic testing: $800. If additional 60-minute follow-ups are desired beyond the first follow-up appointment: $200
- Need NGx test interpreted: This is for individuals who already possess an NGx report from 3X4 Genetics and would like assistance interpreting and applying the results to achieve better health. We will meet via a telehealth visit for up to 60 minutes. Cost of this consultation service: $375
Additional notes about patient consultations:
- They are currently provided virtually via telehealth.
- Patients will be sent a secure link to electronically fill out and submit a medication and health history form, along with signing documents for HIPAA, telehealth and billing. These forms need to be completed at least 2 days prior to the telehealth visit.
- Any patient who had genetic testing performed prior to the consultation will need to submit a copy of the report to GenePharmer, LLC at least 1 week prior to the scheduled appointment.
- Consultations are provided on a cash pay basis. Insurance is neither accepted nor billed. See FAQs for more information about pricing and why insurance is not billed.
- You will be sent a payment link after scheduling your appointment and may pay at any time, up to an hour prior to your appointment. This is also why I recommend the FREE 15-minute discovery call, so you can determine if you want to pursue a 60-minute consultation and testing before committing.
- Once informed consent is obtained during our initial 60-minute consultation, the PGx or NGx test kit will be ordered from the laboratory and shipped to the patient’s home.
- To receive the most benefit from a PGx consultation, it is important that the patient understand in advance of the appointment what each medication is treating and be able to provide details about any medications (current or past) that have been problematic.
- To receive the most benefit from an NGx consultation, it is recommended to visit the 3X4 Genetics website prior to filling out your health history form. On the 3X4 Genetics website, visit the customer FAQs link at the bottom of the main page. Then, under the question “What will I learn from my 3X4 genetics test?” there is a link to download a sample report. Reviewing this report can help you identify how you think the test can help you and we will discuss this on our initial visit.
- If patients have someone who provides them significant assistance with medications or healthcare, then patients are encouraged to invite those individuals to also attend the consultation.
If you are undecided about scheduling a consultation/genetic testing or whether these services would be useful to you, you may schedule a FREE 15-minute informational call.
